About the Event
Professor Alison Stenning, Newcastle University, is a social geographer with a particular interest in everyday and emotional geographies, and in the relationships we build with our streets and neighbourhoods.
In recent years, Alison’s research focus has been on exploring how outdoor urban play changes our relationships with the people and places on our streets and in our neighbourhoods. She has researched this through work on the ‘playing out’ movement and most recently on emerging forms of play and playfulness in and around streets during the pandemic.
This is a joint event organised by the Yorkshire and North East committee, York District GA and Bootham School.
