This month we share a reminder of our upcoming conference and evening networking event (get your tickets while you can) as well as a new advisory group which will focus on engaging with HM Land Registry.
A new advisory group to engage with HMLR

SoLR members Jennifer Butterfill and Tim Donoyou have established a new working group. This follows our HMLR Data Transformation Webinar in Feb (please see a link to the recording below) and HMLR's
The SoLR ‘HMLR Advisory Group’ will work closely with HM Land Registry to gather and offer expert advice and support around their data transformation projects. The group’s purpose is to act as a vital link between the land referencing profession and HMLR helping make sure HMLR’s systems, standards, and digital services match the needs of land referencing professionals. It will offer advice on policies and operations, help shape digital services, promote clear practices, share the industry’s views, encourage collaboration, support training, and monitor potential challenges, ultimately strengthening the relationship between both the Society and HMLR.
Can you support? We are looking for people who can join this group and offer occasional input and advice. Please get in touch: hello@solr.org.uk

Join Us at the Land with Certainty Conference | 18 September 2025
Following the success of our conference last year, the second annual Land with Certainty Conference, hosted by the Society of Land Referencers will be in just under a month, on Thursday, 18 September at the prestigious Royal Geographical Society in South Kensington, London.
This year’s event will take place in the Ondaatje Theatre, a world-class venue that reflects the professionalism and ambition of our growing industry.
With refreshments, lunch, and an evening networking event (including food and drinks) all included, we’ve designed the day to be as accessible and rewarding as possible.
Whether you're a seasoned practitioner or new to the field, this is a unique opportunity to:
Engage with leading voices in land referencing, infrastructure, planning, and law.
Contribute to shaping the future of our profession through collaborative discussions.
Contribute to person and professional development.
Earn CPD credits through expert-led sessions and panels.
Network with colleagues, clients, and friends.
The conference will explore how land referencing underpins certainty in land acquisition and project delivery, and how our collective expertise drives sustainable, legally sound development across the UK.
This year’s conference and evening networking has been made possible through the generous sponsorship and support of Ardent, Blackhall and Powis, Mott MacDonald, Pandell, SoLR and WSP.
Tickets are now available – with a big discount for SoLR members
