5.11 Data exchange

Where land referencing information is exchanged, the exchange shall include sufficient metadata to preserve:

object and version identifiers;

definitions and code lists;

relationships;

CRS and spatial units;

temporal validity;

quality status;

evidence references and provenance;

applicable restrictions; and

the date, sender, recipient and purpose of exchange.

Lossy transformation shall not be used where it would remove information material to the intended use. Where transformation is unavoidable, the information lost or changed and its effect shall be recorded.
