Land Referencing Standard

5.3 Evidence and provenance
Each material assertion shall identify the evidence on which it is based.
For each evidence item, the organisation shall record:
a UID;
source type and source owner or issuing body;
sufficient information to retrieve or identify the source;
date obtained, received or observed;
relevant document date or effective date, where applicable;
part of the source relied upon, where practicable;
any licence, confidentiality or access restriction relevant to its use;
quality or authenticity status;
the person or process that captured the assertion; and
any transformation, interpretation or derivation applied.
Where evidence items conflict, the conflict shall be recorded. Any preferred assertion shall identify the basis for preference and the authority approving the decision.
An unsupported statement received from a party may be recorded as unverified information, but shall not be presented as verified fact.
