5.7 Quality status and uncertainty
The project instruction should define a controlled quality-status scheme appropriate to the purpose of the information.
The scheme shall, as a minimum, distinguish:
captured but not checked;
checked against the cited source;
corroborated by an independent source or inquiry;
approved for the stated use;
disputed or conflicting;
superseded; and
not assessed.
Any status assigned to an object shall not imply a greater level of certainty than the supporting evidence. Spatial precision, positional accuracy, legal certainty and contact currency shall be assessed separately where each is material.
Quality information given for geographic data shall be structured consistently with ISO 19157-1.
