Land Referencing Standard

6.2 Land parcel model
The project instruction shall define the purpose for which land parcels are to be created.
A land parcel shall be delineated so that it is a coherent unit for that purpose. The delineation rule shall be recorded and applied consistently.
Land parcels may be based on one or more of:
physical form or principal use;
management or occupation;
spatial containment;
a source mapping feature;
a right boundary;
a requirement boundary; or
an intersection of defined source objects.
Where different delineation purposes would produce different parcel structures, separate parcel classes shall be used or the purpose shall be explicitly recorded. A physical-use parcel shall not be presented as if it were a registered-title parcel or a requirement-right parcel.
