Land Referencing Standard

6.4 Horizontal and vertical extent
The geographic extent of land shall be recorded in the number of dimensions necessary for the requirement.
Where a two-dimensional geometry is used to represent a three-dimensional object, the record shall include a stratum, level, depth, height, building part or other description sufficient to distinguish the relevant volume.
The organisation shall identify vertical separation where a requirement or right applies differently to:
the surface;
subsoil or a defined subsurface layer;
mines or minerals;
airspace;
a floor, unit or part of a building or structure; or
another defined stratum.
An overlapping two-dimensional footprint shall not be treated as a spatial conflict where the relevant objects occupy separate vertical strata.
