Land Referencing Standard

C.5 Boundary and title interpretation
Across all jurisdictions:
registration and mapping products have stated purposes and limitations;
a mapped feature is not automatically a legal boundary;
absence from a land register is not proof that no right exists;
registered and unregistered evidence can coexist over the same land;
rights can have separate horizontal, vertical and temporal extents; and
land referencing records should preserve source differences rather than silently reconciling them.
