I started my career in the utilities and infrastructure industry in 2018 as a Junior Land Referencer at WSP, working solely on HS2 Phase 2B. During my time at WSP I progressed to Land Consultant and moved into securing land rights and access requirements for surveys. This tangent from land referencing to land access led me towards the surveyor route, which in turn encouraged my move to Bruton Knowles in 2021.
My role as Land Rights Manager involves leading the land referencing team on CPO and TWAO nationwide schemes, as well as negotiating land rights and permanent acquisitions with affected third parties. I am also currently working towards my RICS chartership in the Land and Resources pathway.
I am keen to highlight the importance of land referencing throughout the surveying industry and to emphasise how important land referencing is to surveyors’ day to day work.
I am a very sociable person, and I am excited for the events and webinars we will organise for all SoLR members to grow their networking within both land referencing and surveying.
